  • Permanent-Magnets Electrical Machines;
  • Induction (Asynchronous) Machines;
  • Special Electrical Machines (e.g., ironless machines);
  • Linear Motors;
  • Special Electric Actuators;
  • Embedded Electric Motors.

Electric Drives

Inverter design for motor control and development of respective control algorithms such as:

  • MTPA, Flux-Weakening and MTPV control strategies for permanent-magnet synchronous machines;
  • Reluctance Motors control strategies;
  • Vector sensorless control for stepper electric motor;
  • Sensored or sensorless Field-Oriented Control (FOC) strategies for induction motors.

Testing Laboratory for Electrical Machines

Testing activity of Electric Machine Laboratory (EML) is managed with REILAB Srl (accredited laboratory UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 70025: 2018, N° 0107L).

The laboratory has two test benches of 500 Nm – 45 kW and 50 Nm – 12 kW, respectively, equipped with accredited LAT equipments for measure electric and mechanical physical quantities.

  • Tests according to harmonized Standard CEI EN 60034-1: 2011-03 + CEI EN 60034-1 EC1: 2015-10;
  • Accredited tests according to harmonized Standard CEI EN 60034-2-1: 2015-01 for the following test methods: 2-1-1A (clause 6.1.2), 2-1-1B (clause 6.1.3), 2-1-2A (clause 7.1.2) and 2-1-3A (clause 8.1.2);
  • Accredited tests according to Regulations R85 (UN/ECE) and R134 on electric drive trains intended for propulsion of motor vehicles categories M, N and L respectively;
  • Efficiency tests on electric power drives or converters according to IEC 61800-9-2: 2017.
